Fibromyalgia

For most sufferers,  fibromyalgia is a lifelong condition so treatment is often about managing the symptoms. Because the sufferer can be hypersensitive, it is best to use a variety of gentle massage techniques to avoid over stimulation.

Studies indicate that massage therapy is a beneficial treatment for many fibromyalgia sufferers to help reduce pain, increase flexibility, improve sleep and decrease stress and depression associated with the syndrome.  Massage is used to calm and relax the client and aid in easy muscle flushing over several sessions. If you or someone you know suffers from this condition, massage may be a non invasive way to help manage the symptoms.
